Still feeling sick...

Weight: 229.8

I have reached my 1 month surgiversary. I'm 32 days out and have lost an average of a wee bit over 1 pound a day. I've lost 34 pounds and I'm still having a difficult time keeping food down.
I'm trying various foods and am now eating anything I can that's high in protein (god forbid I not get enough protein and begin losing my hair). I've tried every protein shake under the sun it seems. Everything is still so sweet I can't handle it. I'm taking zofran for nausea. It helps, but I think it's making me constipated.  I eat whatever will stay down with little issue. Salmon, shrimp, oatmeal, chicken and cheese are my staples. Fluids are difficult. I can only tolerate vitamin water zero in the xxx flavor. I've recently been able to keep down TAZO chai with a bit of 2% milk added. Plain water is difficult and I have to concentrate to not vomit when I drink.

I experienced a two week "stall" where I didn't lose any weight at all. But I'm losing a ton of inches and over the last week I've been fitting into those clothes that I never got rid of because "someday I'll fit into them again" well someday is here however I think it will go quickly and they won't fit for long once the scale begins to move again. Pants I've had altered to fit and were a bit snug when I got them back (2 weeks ago) are now so loose I can stick my arms down the sides.

My husband has been INCREDIBLY supportive. This has not been easy on him either. I vomit sometimes with no prior warning. Just all of a sudden it comes up. We're keeping little buckets around the house so I have something to get sick in if I can't make it to the bathroom in time. Or I'll vomit in bed when we're trying to go to sleep and my body finally relaxes. (Although this is getting better and is not as frequent). He does an amazing job to find things for me to eat and understands when I simply cannot make dinner for him because it's just too much and I can't tolerate cooking.

My sutures are still healing. I can feel the knots of the sutures and incisions inside my body. I still have scabs on my stomach and can only imagine if my skin looks this way how long it's taking for my massive hiatal hernia and my VSG to heal.

The up side is I'm sleeping better. I now wear a Jawbone UP to keep track of my movement, track my sleep and also set to remind me every 15 minutes to drink and move.

A great "treat" for me is a little bit of almond butter with some banana slices. Or some frozen yogurt.
I'm taking each day as best as I can, and hopefully the feeling icky part of this will go away soon.
